4th Grade Information
Homework for students will be Monday-Thursday. We expect students to read 20 minutes per evening. Students may also have short word study, math, social studies, or science activities to complete at home. Please see county regulations on homework here:
All 4th graders will receive an agenda book. They will be required to write down any important messages, homework and events in their agenda book. This will go to and from school daily. Please use agendas as a quick form of communication for us as your child’s teachers and we will do the same. We ask that you sign your child’s agenda daily to ensure you see any information from us that is going home.
Chris Yung Folders will go between school and home daily. On Fridays, we will send home any graded work, important information, etc. Please send notes regarding early dismissal, change of dismissal, doctor’s notes, etc. in this folder.
We are using a school-wide, web-based program, called Class Dojo. Class Dojo allows the teacher to promote positive reinforcement to students by awarding points to their learning profile. Parents will be able to sign up and connect to their child's account to see the positive points. This program also allows two-way messaging between the parent and teacher to take pictures and give parents/teachers a view of each student's life in and out of the classroom.
We will have a working snack after Encore. Please be sure to send your child with healthy, easy clean-up, nut-free snacks. Please note that ALL 4th grade classrooms are nut-free. Ideas include fruit, granola or Nutragrain bars, cheese and crackers, etc. Please do not send in juice. Water is acceptable in a leak proof bottle.
