Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.  By incorporating mindfulness into our daily routines and classroom guidance lessons, we hope to improve students’ self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision-making. In turn, we are hoping to foster a kind, caring, and calm community. We are excited to continue our work on mindfulness and believe it will serve as a strong foundation for our CYES family while we continue on this unpredictable journey together.
