Principal Stephanie Downey
In 2022, Mrs. Downey became a part of the Chris Yung Elementary School community, bringing with her a wealth of experience from her 9-year tenure as a principal in Winchester, Virginia. Her educational journey includes teaching 4th and 5th grades, serving as a curriculum specialist, instructional coach, and assistant principal. Mrs. Downey holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Bridgewater College in Virginia, as well as a Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from Johns Hopkins University. She is a mother of two and resides with her husband on their farm in Strasburg, Virginia.

Our dedicated staff at Chris Yung Elementary is thrilled to serve your family during the 2024-2025 school year. We are excited to welcome you to our monthly family engagement events. Don’t forget to join our PTO meetings and Parent Advisory meetings, which are open to all parents and held on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in person at the school and on Zoom. Everyone is welcome!
